You could say the update this week is very enchanting. Heh. Heh. New Game Mechanic: Enchanting We're happy to finally announce the addition of Enchanting to Skybounds! Enchanting has been wanted since our initial launch, but we wanted to delay it until we know we could release it just right.. and we think we have! Enchantment Slots The first piece of this update includes Enchantment Slots. These slots determine the amount of space your items have for both vanilla and our custom enchantments. All levellable items start with 2 slots, and unlock 1 more every 5 levels. Items that are already enchanted will still work just fine, they just can't be further enchanted unless you go below the limit. The new Enchantment Slots Available counter will appear on items when you next use them. Enchantment Books Enchantment books can now be found in the warzone inside Enchantment Crates. Similar to Fragment Crates, they will award enchantments of varying rarities when opened. Bring these books to an enchantment table (now craftable!) with the tool or weapon of your choice to enchant it. With the book, enchantments require both XP Levels (obtained from killings mobs and mining) and Stars. The cost of enchantment will increase in relation to the enchantment level. Disenchanting With Enchanting comes Disenchanting! Disenchanting allows you to remove an enchantment from an item and transform it into a book! Performing a disenchantment requires both XP Levels and Stars (like enchanting), but also requires Books! The cost of disenchanting increases based on the chosen success rate. If a disenchantment fails, the enchantment in question will be lost forever. (WIthout harming your item... minus it losing the enchant.) Disenchanting and enchanting can be swapped between using the buttons on the far right of the enchantment interface. New Challenge Type: THE ENCHANTING CHALLENGE Because of the unparalleled power that comes with enchanting, we had to make sure that only the most worthy were trusted with it. Accessing enchantment tables requires you to be Player Level 10 (by completing challenges, not XP level.) as well as to have completed the Enchantment Challenge. Once you obtain Level 10, right click any enchantment table and proceed to complete the challenge. Upon completion, you'll unlock the ability to enchant forever. Happy Holidays: SANTA IS HERE! Turns out Skybounds is right in line with Santa's route this year... and he needs your help! With Santa comes a special and limited time holiday quest, only available until the end of 2016! Every day starting tomorrow (December 17th), he'll have a new task for you.. and it's well worth it! You'll be thanked very well for your efforts: You can find Santa in any of the markets on all 3 servers to accept the quest. Happy helping! New Custom Enchantment: BACKSTAB A new custom enchantment has been added to the wild! Backstab will deal a critical blow plus bleed damage when you strike an enemy from behind. Backstab will prove to be an invaluable addition to a stealthy players' arsenal. Backstab can be found on rare loot in warzone chests as well as from the new ASSASSIN Immortal Kit: Savage Games | Welcome The Lumberjack Fairy will be bidding us farewell on Monday, December 19th. Savage Games | Welcome Other Noteable Changes COOLDOWN CHANGES: When an immortal kit is unlocked, it will no longer share the cooldown of previously-failed unlocks. (Bugfix) LEVEL LEADERBOARD: Use /leveltop to see the highest levelled players on your server! STUCK NO MORE: /stuck command if you're inside a block while in the warzone PRETTIFY YOUR SPAWN: You can now break leaves and glass within your island spawn zone REPAIR PRICE CHANGES: The cost of repairs has been significantly lowered CUSTOM POTIONS: You'll soon start seeing potions with crazy wacky effects around the server! CHAT CLEANUP: Cosmetic changes for chat to improve quality of life MORE ENCHANTMENTS: 8 new custom enchantments have been added. Discoverable from Enchant Crates! BOWS LEVEL LOCKED: Bows are now level locked to allow them to be enchanted. XP earning for them and armor coming soon! SKULLSMASH NERF: Skullsmash now has a cooldown between activations, regardless of chance. BLEED NERF: Bleed cooldown between activations on a single target has been increased.
