New mechanic fridays! Whoop! Whoop!
Brewing is a brand new mechanic to the Skybounds server, and it works differently than you'd expect in vanilla. It all starts with a Cauldron:

Before you can use Brewing, you must complete the Brewing Challenge. Begin this challenge by achieving Challenge Level 20, then right clicking a Cauldron. Upon completing the challenge, you will unlock brewing on that Skybounds server.

The first step to brewing is acquiring a Potion Recipe. These books can be bought from the new Brew Master merchant, or found in warzone chests through storms.

As the book says, bring it to a Cauldron to begin the brewing process. You'll need to provide a glass bottle, arcane powder, and all the ingredients stated by the recipe. What's required can be tracked at the tooltip at the top.

Upon providing all the necessary ingredients, click the result on the right to receive your potion.

Brewing potions will yield Bonus XP, against the new BREWING category! This addition boosts the total Bonus XP you can earn per-day from PVE tasks to 2,500!

The Everbloom Elixir will make getting wood and lumber a worry of the past. One splash of this concoction will cause trees to sprout sky-high. This recipe can be bought from the Brew Master.

Heyo!

Thought I'd make a quick update post to address some confusion with immortal shards that sprang up this weekend relating to the new animation.

Let's cover how Immortal Kits unlock first before I cover some things people have been confused about:
  1. You right click an immortal shard
  2. The server decides whether or not you've unlocked it based on the unlock chance. This is random. We don't tell you the server's result until the end of the animation.
  3. The animation for the unlock plays.
  4. The result of the unlock is announced/told to you.
Regardless of what the animation does, the result is decided before the animation begins.

There was a visual bug this week that caused shards from Monthly Reward Crates to display no unlock NPCs, even though the chance was still there. (The fix for this rolled out today, by the way.)

I want to address first as well, purchased shards were not affected by this visual glitch.

We've tweaked the spinner animation to better represent your chance at an unlock visually. Purchased shards should now see 2 unlock NPCs minimum, while monthly shards should see 1 minimum.

I apologize for any confusion this may have caused, but your chances were never reduced as a result of the new animation.

If you have any additional questions, let us know!
