So, I feel like with what is going to be Skybounds 2.0 basically confirmed in the early stages of development, this is an excellent opportunity to get input from actual players on what features to add, how to implement them and more. Maybe a group of 10-15 regular Skybounds players should be rounded up as sort of a survey team, that higher ups/devs can talk to about what the general Skybounds player base wants to see from this new server. I think a lot of people have unique insights and ideas that they don't necessarily always share with those who are in a position to act on those ideas.

I think just having a small, closed Discord with a few OG and knowledgeable Skybounds players can make suggestions directly to content planners would make for a much better server at launch. Obviously, the closer the server is to the general consensus for what people want, the more successful it will be.

Obviously, anyone in this group would be under a sort of "non disclosure agreement" and would not be permitted to discuss things pertaining to the new server outside of the group.

I really want Skybounds to succeed again, and I think that will only happen if its recreation is sculpted as precisely to what people want as possible.

    tl;dr
Create a group of actual players to suggest and fine tune content for the new "Skybounds 2.0" server

I do see benefit in this suggestion. However, it may cause issues with some players if they feel their ideas aren't being valued as much as someone else's. That being said, there are those of us who spend more of our day on Skybounds than we care to admit should have our thoughts heard. Some players mainly come on to play during the summer break while others of us have truly formed a tight-knit community on the server. We want this place to still be "home" for us to enjoy being with our friends. We've been neglected long enough by Savage Games, so being heard and our thoughts considered in this new venture would help make up for the nearly 7 months of no new content and lack of interest shown by those in charge. I know that Lauren cares about Skybounds and its community and wants us to survive. I hope that the rest of the Overlords are as invested in its future.

Both you and handel come with good insight. Getting ideas from the player-base would help the new server survive and be as amazing as it can be. Could be an document where everyone could just sumbit their ideas, so everyone would see that their ideas were at least discussed. (Not talking about the document that was previously made, that only had the ideas that were already coded in) -

I think there is value to this idea, but it for sure needs some tuning. Thank you for the suggestion!

Except everyone will want their idea in and will cry when it isnt. People will want broken stuff that didnt work, they will want OP stuff that caused issues, and things that ruined parts of the game they didnt really deal with e.t.c Everyone only thinks of themself. They dont think about how it would affect he server as a whole, how balanced it is, how much of an effect it will have, and this all leads to terrible ideas and more issues than you started with lol.
The other is, different worlds will experience things differently, what may be an issue on one world might not be on others, this has been shown multiple times throughout skybounds life, and if this isnt considered then it will have adverse affects as well.

I would say, let the devs release it. And then get a group of experienced people from each area of the server e.g. Island building, challenge farming, warzone rulers and get a few of each, sensible people to discuss then how stuff might need to be changed after each group of people have experienced whats going on.
No need to break something before its even been made.

    My view

I agree with this, we should get experienced players to test things AFTER its out. I think we should see what the devs create, and updates are always an option if we don’t like something

I feel like this would be a pretty good idea for any development of just about anything. The only issue I see with it is with the players that are selected, you cant completely know that they won't spread the information theyre getting around to the community. I also think that the selected people might tell their friends in the community or just about anyone that they were selected and the players might get jealous and overall ruin the project. As well as while you talk about the OG players being selected sometimes the OG can be super toxic. I really like the idea but there's a lot of risk that comes with it in the community side.
