Keep reading to learn more about this weeks update -- you are not going to want to miss it! An unfortunate event has taken place on Skybounds two days ago, and we are absolutely devastated that our community of passionate, caring and dedicated players have had to deal with the loss of their ranks for so long. We would like to let you all know that we are aware of the situation and although this update is still going live, WE ABSOLUTELY have been taking measures to make sure that your ranks are returned in a reasonable time frame. Thousands of you have supported our community through purchasing ranks here on Savage Games, and unfortunately that means that it takes a good amount of time to find, configure and re-upload all of the ranks to the data base. Please know that our developers have been working endlessly to resolve this situation and to help keep you guys from going rankless longer than need be. That said, I would like to inform you that we are in the right track in terms of returning ranks, and that you should start seeing them pop back into the server within the next few days. Now, we know how frustrating it has been for you guys to not have your hard earned ranks, and thus we will be introducing a little gift bundle for the rank holders of our community as an apology for this event taking place. More information about this exclusive gift to our ranked players will be spoken of within the oncoming week. 13 years ago today a game that many people played, and loved, came out with an incredible update… The Slayer Skill, a simple skill based on PvE combat that leveled players up for both PvE and PvP. This update came out with new quests, an awesome task system, new mobs to kill and of course EPIC LOOT! Here at Skybounds we decided to create something similar but with our own twist of course. And thus… we welcome YOU to the Skybounds Slayer System. Full to the brim with an epic quest, awesome tasks, crazy mobs and savage new loot! Join in on the fight today with Valguard, Bostain and Sonny the three slayer masters that are here to help you out. One of the biggest reasons for the Slayer System coming to Skybounds is to introduce more PvE events and a way to gain combat levels that is not part of PvP. After completing the main questline you will begin your adventures into the Slayer Tasks, each of the 3 Slayer Masters require a certain amount of slayer points to talk to. Valguard the first Master only requires the quest to be completed and gives you easy tasks. Bostain is the second Master which requires 500 points to talk to and gives you medium tasks, medium tasks contain both easy mobs and chieftains, a new breed of mob infesting our lands! Sonny is the third master which requires 5000 points to talk to and gives you hard tasks, thousands of easy mobs hundreds of chieftains and the generals. Generals are a very hard, very special breed of mobs. They are currently waiting as their chieftains scout the lands of Skybounds. Tasks give special rewards and combat levels! There is also a Global task that is always available, the Global task is for the whole server to participate in. It could be as simple as killing 100,000 Zombies or as hard as killing 50,000 Vampires(Described Below). The prize system on it is currently in a temporary phase and will be changing, instead of doing a prize pool we are working on a way to succesfully reward the players on a stage basis. I.E. helping out 1% will get you the first stage of rewards but helping out 5% would give you the fifth stage of rewards, then after that you would get a % of a prize pool. This is to make things more rewarding and will likely come in a QOL update next week. One of the biggest parts we want with this new Slayer System is for you the players to figure things out, secrets are everywhere! Below are some rough outlines with little information only there to introduce you to the basics. Your Slayer adventure begins with the main quest which starts at the leader of The Resistance, Valguard. The quest will lead you around your Skybounds world showing you da wae to find each of the Slayer Masters and introduce you to what you will be fighting. Valguard as mentioned above is the leader of The Resistance, known for his noble words of wisdom and bringing together The Resistance to fight The Mobs. Next in the line is Bostain who is the strategic planner for The Resistance, he is often found in the frontlines or at outposts. Bostain fought in 19 different battles against The Mobs, each one was a Victory! The third master is Sonny, a brave and noble warrior, often referred to as the greatest of all warriors. Sonny has fought in hundreds of battles against the most evil of mobs, but in the process his mind has run wild! The only way for Sonny to find tranquility is to hide away from large societies in dark places. In the wise words of Sonny before his mind was gone, “Go out and slay my comrades!” The new Slayer System brings in a plethora of new mobs and mob additives. You still have your standard vanilla mobs of spiders, skeletons, zombies, etc… However there is a new tier of mob above these, The Chieftains! A Chieftain is the leader of the Mob Armies regiments, they are the leaders of vanilla mobs. Last weeks sneak peak showed a glimpse of one of these Chieftains. Below is a clearer view of this Chieftain known as the Dark Knight chasing Thoxal across is island. Amongst the Dark Knight there is also; Chaos Knight, Goblin and Vampire. Each of the Chieftains contain special drops, including epic new gear. Each one of these spectacular creatures require certain circumstances to spawn in, imagine sacrificing a diamond to lava to create a diamond golem. However the ways that these Chieftains spawn in is up to you to figure out with subtle hints given in the tasks. They may start to appear around your island if the circumstances are correct. Each of the Chieftains have special abilities including defenses, some requiring certain weapons to damage. If you are using the wrong weapon to damage a mob it will ding at you. Along with this you will find that you do a severely less damage and do not get drops if you do not have the Slayer Points required to have more knowledge of these creatures. Goblin requires 1000 points Vampire requires 1500 points Dark Knight requires 2500 points Chaos Knight requires 2500 points WARNING: You do not have to have a task or Slayer Points to kill these mobs but you do have to have the Slayer Points required to get drops and deal normal damage. EPIC LOOT C'mon you want to know more don’t you! Without giving away too much information since this is all about the adventure of you finding things out we decided to give you a small sneaky peaky! Each tier of tasks contains their own mass amount of epic loot, including CUSTOM ARMOR SETS echo… echo… echo… These armor sets contain set bonuses that are directly related to the Slayer Tasks. The Tier 1 full armor set, also known as Valguard’s armor, provides you the chance to have all mob kills count as double for your tasks. The Tier 2 full armor set, also known as Bostain’s armor, improves the rate of “SPECIAL DROPS” from mobs. The Tier 3 full armor set, also known as Sonny’s armor, is a secret and will be announced soon! There are also some weapons built to give you hints at how to take down specific Chieftains and allow you to slay them with more ease! The Vanilla mob loot tables remain unchanged, but there are plans for a future revamp to make it more worthwhile. The Chieftains each have their own specific standard drops such as; emeralds, diamonds, Challenge XP etc… And have their own specific SPECIAL DROPS including armor sets with incredible set bonuses that will be good, even in PvP. These special sets of armor are for you to find and figure out! The best way for you to find them, is to go out and slay! Now this isn’t the end of the Slayer System, Slayer is something that we plan on constantly updating and adding too. In the next couple of weeks we will be adding the Generals which are basically bosses you can spawn on your own island. We are giving you a couple of weeks to prepare for them to come, as they will not be the easy fights you have with the current boss arenas. Instead these bosses will contain a large variety of mechanics that will require you to think. Along with that we are working on adding more Chieftains very often and more custom loot to come with it! But for now we suggest you get to grinding and achieve the incredible gear you can get from the Slayer System, oh and maybe some other EPIC LOOT! Some fantastic looking GUI updates has since hit the server today. Showcasing a much more effective and efficient way to navigate through both the Duel and Mob Arenas. Choose easily to take part in a solo match, or party match at just a click of the button. Or, you can hop on over to the Mob Arena selection for a way to navigate that's just as easy! Random Immortal Shards are now hitting the Savage Games Shop! Not seeing the Immortal Kit Shard in store that you have been dying to purchase? Try your luck at getting one through this new store item! All shards that have ever been introduced to the server will be obtainable in this new, and randomized way of buying shards.
